Consolidating Tax Records in One Place

In the spring of 2025, the IRS began adding information return documents to taxpayers’ individual online accounts, making it easier to access important tax records from a single location.

Forms Now Available

The first forms added were Form W-2 and Form 1095-A. Since then, the IRS has expanded availability to include:

  • Forms 1098 and 1098-T

  • Forms 1099-DIV and 1099-INT

  • Form 1099-G

  • Form 1099-K

  • Forms 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC

  • Form 1099-R

  • Form 1099-SA

  • Forms 5498 and 5498-SA

These forms are available for tax year 2023 and forward by navigating to the Records and Status tab and selecting Information Return Documents within the taxpayer’s online account.

Future Expansion Planned

The IRS plans to continue expanding the range of information returns accessible online. However, only documents issued in the taxpayer’s name will appear in their account. Spouses must log into their own accounts to retrieve their information—even if filing jointly.

What’s Not Included

There are two key categories of information taxpayers will not find through the IRS online account:

  1. Forms issued to another taxpayer, such as a spouse or a grantor trust with its own EIN.

  2. State and local tax information, which is grayed out on available forms. This includes items such as state wages and withholding.
